Fly Fishing

One could not sum up fly fishing Western Montana's area rivers, streams and lakes in a book let alone a single page,  but here is an idea of how our Fly fishing season breaks down.  Many People ask the question, "when is the best time to come fly fishing in Western Montana?" The truth is, it really is hard to pick just one "best" time.  Depending on the person, it could be just about anytime from early spring to late fall.

Well known for the excellent dry fly fishing season long, there are virtually very few times throughout the spring, summer or fall that we don't find trout eating something on the surface. whether it be giant stone flies in the spring, hoppers in the summer, giant October Caddis in the fall, or various small mayflies hatching through out the year; you will find Montana dry fly  fishing at it's finest on our Missoula area waters.

With that being said, if getting down and dirty is your style, big nymphs and streamers are usually an effective way to hunt for the big ones all season long.  Come visit us and the beautiful water we fish, and we are sure you won't be disappointed.
