Many People ask the question, "when is the best time to come fly fishing in Western Montana?" The truth is, it really is hard to pick just one "best" time. Depending on the person, it could be just about anytime from early spring to late fall.
Well known for the excellent dry fly fishing season long, there are virtually very few times throughout the spring, summer or fall that we don't find trout eating something on the surface. whether it be giant stone flies in the spring, hoppers in the summer, giant October Caddis in the fall, or various small mayflies hatching through out the year; you will find Montana dry fly fishing at it's finest on our Missoula area waters.
